Ray “Dr. BBQ” Lampe is a chef, author and television personality.
Ray grew up in Chicago and spent 25 years working for his family’s trucking business before transitioning into the cooking world. After successfully participating in BBQ cook-offs since 1982, Ray took a leap of faith and turned his hobby into his career in 2000 when he moved to Florida to begin his career as an outdoor cooking expert.
Ray has appeared on numerous TV shows. He was a finalist on Food Network’s “Chopped: Grill Masters” and served as an expert judge on the network’s “Tailgate Warriors with Guy Fieri.” He currently hosts a cooking segment on Fox Sports Network’s “Fishing the Flats.”
In addition to his TV appearances, Lampe is an accomplished author. He was written six cook books including “Slow Fire: The Beginners Guide to Barbecue” and “The NFL Gameday Cookbook.”
