Australian-born designer and author, Jamie Durie, is credited with changing the face of landscape design. He has inspired a whole generation to rediscover their gardens and integrate them into their traditional living spaces.
Today, Jamie splits his time between his studios in Sydney and Los Angeles, with hotel, resort and commercial projects over the last 15 years spanning 17 countries.
As a horticulturist, Jamie alongside his team at Durie Design, have received over 30 international design awards, including gold medals in Singapore, New Zealand, Melbourne, Sydney and London’s famed Chelsea Flower Show, with the first Australian native garden in Chelsea history.
Jamie is a committed environmentalist working with numerous organizations dedicated to conservation. In honor of his work over the last two decades, Jamie was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2012 for services to the environment and design, while in 2004, he received the Centenary Medal for services to the environment, television, and the community.
Author of ten best-selling books, Jamie has hosted over 50 television shows globally, airing in over 30 countries to millions of viewers. He has won numerous awards for his television work; in the U.S, these include the E.M.A (Environmental Media Award) for Green Home; in Australia, seven television Logie Awards one for Australia’s most popular talent and six consecutively for Australia’s most popular lifestyle show Backyard Blitz.
Jamie continues to inspire through his dedication to design, and his commitment to protecting our planet’s natural resources.
