Kiki Melendez grew up in New York City and was raised by a single mom who later moved the family to North Miami Beach, Florida during her formative years. Kiki, attended Florida Atlantic University where she majored in Psychology with a minor in communications. She later obtained her certification as a Clinical Hypnotherapist. After 5 years at FAU, Kiki returned to New York City to attend the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theater and Film School and HB Studios. She stumbled into comedy while living around the corner from the Comic Strip in NYC. There was no doubt Kiki was destined for greatness and soon became one of America’s top female performers touring the nation with other top comics!
She has always focused on creating opportunities for other women and minorities creating groundbreaking shows like the first bilingual entertainment show in America “Kiki Desde Hollywood” On Galavision National Spanish Language Network, and the ALL Female, cross cultural “Kiki Melendez’ Hot Tamales Live!” on Showtime Networks. Most recently she created the first-ever Spanish language stand-up comedy show for Latinos in America “Locos Y Contentos” for Estrella TV national network. In 2015 her Docu-Comedy, “Journey of A Female Comic” was one of the few to hit theaters. The film received critical acclaim through various awards, and qualified for the 2016 Academy Awards. That same year, the film became part of the Permanent Core Collection at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences Library.
Most recently, Kiki created the groundbreaking Latin Hollywood Films Sizzle Reel Showcase, an event where she presented a slate of cross cultural programming across genre for network executives in New York, Miami and Los Angeles. Kiki is an actress, writer, comedian and CEO of Latin Hollywood Films Inc.
A Philanthropist at heart, Kiki sits on the board of the Joy Foundation for underserved children with special needs. Kiki is always supporting fundraisers that benefit children, art education, and cancer survivors.
